The Meadow View Barn at the Shaker Village at Pleasant Hill was developed years ago to host the Chamber Music Festival of the Bluegrass, which celebrated its seventh edition in May.

But later this month, the barn will host some pure bluegrass from some of the genre’s younger artists.

The first Bluegrass in the Barn concert will be at 4:30 Sept. 21 with a lineup featuring North Carolina rising stars Town Mountain, Central Kentucky favorites Arthur & Arthur, and a barn dance featuring the Kentucky RidgeRunners. Admission is $15 adults and $5 ages 12 and younger.

Arthur & Arthur are the father-son duo of Arthur Hancock III and Arthur Hancock IV of Bourbon County. Arthur IV did a brief stint as the host of Red Barn Radio late last year before deciding to focus on his music.

At this year’s Festival of the Bluegrass, Town Mountain drew the seemingly thankless slot of following the Masters of Bluegrass (inlcuding J.D. Crowe and Del McCoury) and more than rose to the occasion with a set highlighted by tunes from their latest album Leave the Bottle.
